For over 30 years, we’ve partnered with the Detroit Zoo to champion conservation, community and connection. But as the world evolved, so did the need for a more modern brand identity.

The challenge? Refreshing a beloved brand without losing its legacy. We needed an identity that honored the Detroit Zoo’s hard-working spirit while embracing the ever-changing nature of today’s digital platforms.

That vision led to Where Life Connects…

A zoo based in Royal Oak, MI, that houses over 2,000 animals and over 200 wildlife species.

What does “Where Life Connects” mean?

When you truly see the world—its wildlife, its ecosystems, its intricate connections—it changes you. 
It deepens your appreciation for the delicate balance of life and ignites a sense of responsibility. 
Because the more we connect with the natural world, the more we become their greatest advocates. 
And at the Detroit Zoo, every connection tells a story worth protecting.

Our Look & Feel

Colors

New vibrant colors have been added to accompany the new white DZoo logo. All colors are associated with different species.

Captures

Our wildlife photography represents a grab of animals in-action—feeding, jumping, flying and more within their habitats. Our human photography includes people interacting with the animals.

Composition

The wildlife and humans create scenes that feel dynamic, adding a touch of storytelling. Our ‘OOs’ in ‘ZOO’ act as a portal into the eyes of our humans and/or wildlife.
